ABOUT - Greg Benz
With its present focus on abstract landscapes and dreamlike resin pieces, the current artwork of greg benz is simply the next chapter in the artist’s career. His creative journey through music and visual art have given him a broad palette from which to create bold pieces on both canvas and wood- panel.
Utilizing nontraditional painting techniques, which center on mixing acrylics and liquid polymers, his large landscapes feature an authoritative use of color.
They are marked by textured surfaces so thick with paint that cracks — (reminiscent of arid parts of the earth’s surface) — are a striking feature.
His highly acclaimed work in resin is more explosive. The images are primordial, with the mash-up of colors and patterns giving the impression of acts of violent creation in deep space as plasma entities collide.
